What real BNZ messages look like
- Official emails will only come from @bnz.co.nz
- BNZ will never text or email you a link to log in or verify your account
- They will never ask for your NetBank password, PIN, or security codes
- Legitimate security alerts will ask you to navigate to bnz.co.nz independently
Common spoof patterns
- "Update your details to avoid account suspension" SMS scams
- Fake "Payment verification" texts intended to harvest credentials
- "Refund available" lures asking you to log in via a provided link
